Laughing Bird Kookaburra on Australian Coins

A bird which can make you laugh with its unique human laughter-like sounds in the mornings and evenings will now be featured on Australian coins!The original Australian Kookaburra coin was first released in 1990 and its 25th Anniversary was celebrated in 2015 with a new coin release.
The reverse of this 99.9% pure silver coin depicts an adult kookaburra sitting on a tree stump surrounded by eucalyptus leaves and a fern. Other inscriptions include ‘THE AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA’, ‘P25’ mintmark, and ‘1990 – 2015’.
The obverse features the common effigy of Queen Elizabeth II along with other inscriptions like ‘2015’, and the monetary denomination “8 AUD”.
