World Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on 22nd April when different countries from around the world come together and conduct several events to raise their concerns about the different environmental issues that we face today.This day was first observed in the year 1970 and is now globally coordinated by the Earth Day Network. More than 193 countries celebrate this grand day by spreading awareness through various events.
This year is special as over 120 countries are going to sign the Paris Agreement that complies to the climate protection treaty that was adopted by 195 countries during the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris.
Several commemorative stamps have been issued in varying denominations by different countries to support the cause behind World Earth Day. This particular sheet, issued by the United States depicts the basic ways in which an individual can contribute towards making this world greener and better.
