75th Anniversary Of WWII- The Battle Of Britain Celebrated On Coins

The 1940 Battle of Britain and was the first major strike Second World War, fought entirely by air forces. The fate of United Kingdom depended greatly on the outcome of this airstrike. Australia observed the 75th anniversary of this crucial battle last year by releasing a commemorative coin.The reverse of this 2015 Australian currency depicts three Hawker Hurricane fighter aircraft flying through the sky with other inscriptions like ‘75th ANNIVERSARY OF WWII’ and ‘THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN’, and the mintmark ‘P’.
The obverse depicts the common effigy of Queen Elizabeth II with inscriptions ‘2015’, and the monetary denomination “1 OZ”.
Mintage of these silver proof coins is limited to 5,000.
