1/2 Kilogram Roaring Grizzly Bear Gold and Silver Coins Released

The 2016 Roaring Grizzly Bear gold and silver coins were released in ½ kilogram sizes by the Royal Canadian Mint. It will be the last coin released under the “Call of the Wild” series which debuted in 2014 with the release of the Howling Wolf coins, followed by the release of Growling Cougar coins in 2015.The coin’s design bears a detailed depiction of the power of the bear’s fearsome stance in a background showcasing Canadian wilderness. Reverse inscriptions include ‘CANADA’, ‘2016’ and the artist’s initials.
The obverse features the common portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Inscriptions being ‘ELIZABETH II’, ‘D G REGINA’ and ‘1250 DOLLARS’ for the gold coin and ‘125 DOLLARS’ for the silver coin.
