Botswana Post issued a set of 4 stamps that feature the Diamond Industry of the country.

The diamond industry – mining, cutting and polishing, and sales – is the most important economic activity for Botswana, as it currently contributes 35% to its revenue.

Given the country's heavy dependence on the diamond industry, Botswana Post had issued a set of 4 stamps that collectively depicts the entire Industry of Diamonds. These four stamps feature 4 stages of the industry i.e mining, cutting, polishing and jewellery from finished diamonds. More interestingly, the stamps are in shape of diamonds.

The Stamp of 1.75 Botswana pula depicts the diamond mines and extraction of raw diamonds.

The 2.00 Botswana pula stamp shows the diamond dealer shown studying the Diamond.

Cut and polished diamonds are featured on a stamp with the denomination of 35 thebes which is the lowest denomination stamp of the set.

The stamp with the highest value of 2.5 Botswana pula shows the final stage of the process – i.e the jewellery made from finished cut diamonds.
