2016 Mercury Dime Centennial Gold Coin to Begin from Tomorrow

On 15th December, the US Mint will begin selling the 2016 Mercury Dime Centennial Gold Coin again. 116,096 out of the 125,000 coins had been sold. The ordering limit is set to one per household.The 1/10 troy ounce .9999 fine 24-karat gold coin struck with a business-strike finish celebrates Adolph A. Weinman’s original Winged Liberty Dime design. The coin is called the “Mercury” dime because Liberty’s depiction is similar to the Roman god Mercury.
The obverse features Liberty wearing a winged cap, with the inscriptions LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 2016, and the artist’s initials, AW. The reverse depicts Roman fasces and an olive branch along with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, AU 24K, 1/10 oz., and ONE DIME.
