Early Coin Struck 65 Percent Off-centre Auctioned
2016-12-09 Fri
An 1848 Coronet cent, struck 65 percent off-centre, ANACS Fine 12 from the Hamilton Collection, Part III was sold for $1,880 at the Long Beach auction in September. Most early errors in well-circulated condition have major problems like harsh cleaning or holes. Some remained as pocket pieces and were able to circulate slowly. Major portions of the design are missing but the die marriage can be noted by its date position.Latest News
