Federal Reserve Note to be Redesigned

2016-12-06 Tue

After the results of the Presidential elections were out on 8th November, there were many discussions about redesigning U.S. paper money.

A book named “The Challenge of Selecting a New Secretary,” by Bouree Lamm in The Atlantic of 18th November talks about the priorities of the incoming Treasury secretary.

The new treasury secretary has complete control over design but the final call for the design and the date for circulation would be taken by the Federal Reserve Board.

The $5, $10, and $20 notes are being redesigned and would be revealed in 2020. Testing with the visually-impaired will begin in 2017.
