Peru Wins Best Currency in Circulation Award

During the 7th International Numismatic Convention which was held on 1st October n Buenos Aires, Collection coins from Peru were awarded as the “best currency in circulation” for the next year.Coins issued between 1st July 2014 and 30th June 2015 from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti and Honduras were the contenders for the award. Awards were given for three categories “best coin in circulation”, “best collection coin” and “best bill”.
The Quality of design, technological innovation and other outstanding features on currency were the parameters for the selection.
Mints and authorities responsible for the design, manufacture and issuance of bills, as well as collectors and specialists from each category, were awarded.
