Tokelau’s Latest Coin Features Valkyrie, Chooser of the Slain

The second coin released in the Legends of Asgard series for Tokelau island depicts “Valkyrie, Chooser of the Slain” who takes the call as to who will die on the battlefield and who will ascend to Valhalla.The full thickness of the coins is 5 millimeters and the three-dimensional design has a full 3.5 millimeters into the coin with “Max Relief”, a term used for a designation that combines both High Relief and Ultra High Relief.
The common obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the inscriptions ELIZABETH II / TOKELAU TEN DOLLARS / 2016 / 3 oz 999 Silver. The coin has a Celtic-knot-style border.
This 3 ounce 99.9% fine silver coin has a face value of NZ$10 and a mintage limit of 1,500. The coins come with a unique serial number and are presented in a wooden box along with a certificate of authenticity. The coin can be purchased for $189.90. Ordering starts now and shipments will start at the end of September.
Twelve coins in total will be released, three per year for four years.
