A daughter who kept her father's name alive

The first woman ruler during sultanate period was Raziyya Sultan, who ruled the Delhi Sultanate for a duration of four years, her governance till date is said to be the most systematic form of government and so was her coinage.Raziyya Sultan kept the memory of her father, Itutmish, alive by depicting his name on this silver tanka coin.
And one such coin minted at the Delhi Mint, dated 635 (AH 635) (in words) comes with the legend “Al-Sultan Al-azam Shams al-dunya wa al-din iltutmish al-sultan nasrat amir al-muminin” on the obverse and “Fi ahad Al-imam Al-Mustasim amir Al-Muminin” on the reverse.
This Silver tanka coin which weighs around 10.8gm was sold for INR 17,000 at Todywalla Auctions held on September 2010.
