Vatican Post apprehends the canonization of Mother Teresa with a special postage stamp prior to the Canonization Mother Teresa of Calcutta on 4th September 2016.

Canonization is the act by which the Orthodox, Oriental Orthodoxy, Roman Catholic, or Anglican Church declares that a person who has died was a saint.

Mother Teresa is recognized worldwide for her dedication to helping the poor. She spent her life in Calcutta, India for the betterment of the poor and needy people of India who were banished from the society. Hence, following her 106th Birth Anniversary, Roman Catholic Church has decided to declare Mother Teresa as a saint in the recognition of her act of kindness.

Hence, a specially designed stamp is going to be issued to commemorate this occasion. This 95-cent stamp designed by Patrizio Daniele features a wrinkled but radiant Mother Teresa smiling in her blue-trimmed, white sari. The stamp shows another image of her holding the hand of a small child and the church that was established by her is seen in the background.
