Kittur Rani Channamma was the warrior Queen of Kittur, a princely state in South India. She was best known for leading an armed rebellion against the British East India Company in 1824. To salute the memory of one of the brave daughter of India a commemorative Postage stamp was issued which depicts a view of statue of Rani Channamma on horse-back.
