Shukla Day is observed every year in remembrance of India’s leading numismatist Mr. S.M Shukla. It couldn’t have been a more appropriate occasion to launch the world’s first online museum which is dedicated to Numismatics, Philately and Notaphily, all under one single roof. Apart from the website, a mobile application was also launched which will help you browse through the online museum on your finger tips.
Mr. Fadnavis appreciated the vision of Mr. Shushilkumar Agrawal, M.D of Ultra Group, who thought of creating such a unique and informative online platform by bringing together researchers from all these three fields. He stressed on the fact that through the study of ancient coins, notes and stamps you can get a glimpse of India’s rich heritage.
He also stated that it is a very noble initiative to revive the dying hobbies of numismatics, philately and notaphily which can help improve understanding of our own roots and history. He believed that one should not discontinue their childhood hobby and should pursue it to not just add up to one's source of income but also to gain knowledge about cultures, traditions, history and many other aspects about the world. Noted journalists covered the press conference which was addressed by CM Devendra Fadnavis, Mr. Shushilkumar Agrawal and Mr. Kaizad Todywalla, the organiser of Shukla Day.
Thousands of visitors turned up at the 3-day event. The registration counters for Mintage World were never idle as everyone was eager to be a part of the website and keep themselves updated about their favourite hobby. We have also received large number of online registrations. Exhibits included some very rare ancient coins, colourful stamps and unique notes. Some were for sale and others were competing for the S.M. Shukla rotating trophy. The spirit was high and collectors got a chance to interact with other fellow enthusiasts like them.
All in all, the event was a grand success and it was a moment to celebrate.
The event has been covered online on various news portals and channels.
