Martha Washington was born on 2nd June 1731 to John Dandridge, a well-to-do planter family situated in New Kent County, Virginia.

Martha was very intelligent since her childhood. At a very young age, she had learnt good skills. She learned the skills in sewing, household management. She had a good knowledge of plantation management, crop sales, homeopathic medicine, and animal husbandry.

She got married to George Washington, the first president of United States of America in the year 1759. Martha helped her husband George Washington during Revolutionary War when her husband was chosen as commander of Continental Army. When the war got over George Washington was elected as the first president of United States of America and she was made as the first lady of United States of America. She had fulfilled her role of a military and political wife with ease and grace.
