Solomon Islands Releases New Banknotes

2017-03-02 Thu

Solomon Islands released the third denomination of the new series, a $20 currency note. The country’s rich cultural heritage is represented through a geometrical design indicating the swirling movement fishes on the obverse. The reverse depicts traditional panpipes and the ceremonial island dancing. The note is purple with colour shifting red-green StarChrome® thread, considered as one of the best security threads in the world.

De La Rue produced the notes for Solomon Islands. Their association with the Central Bank began 100 years ago. One Solomon Islands Dollar is approximately worth $0.13 USD at the moment.
