A tax or revenue stamp is used to collect taxes or fees on documents, tobacco, alcoholic drinks, medicines, and entertainment. This stamp of Pudukkottai is the Entertainment tax stamp issued during 1940-45 AD. This stamp was levied on various entertainments by affixing them on the tickets.
These kinds of stamps were also issued by the princely states of Cochin, Jaipur, and Mysore.
