The man who discovered the law of planetary motion

2016-12-27 Tue

Johannes Kepler was a mathematician, astrologer, and astronomer. He was born on December the 27th in 1571 in Germany.

He is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the scientific revolution that occurred in the 17th century. He is best known for the laws of planetary motion that he developed, which were the foundations of Newton’s theories about gravity.

Hungary issued a set of two stamps of 1 Hungarian forint to honour this great person. One of which depicts the bust of Johannes Kepler with his birth and death year (1571-1630). The other stamp portrays the law of the planetary motion.

What people don’t realise is that Kepler was also a well-regarded inventor. He invented eyeglasses, Kepler Telescope, Rudolphine Tables, Astronomia Nova and Log Books.

Isn’t this just too much for one person to invent?
