Gold Coin and Nugget Accessories Auctioned by Doyle

Historically significant gold watches and accessories from authors and railroad historians Lucius Beebe and Charles Clegg was offered for sale by a New York–based auction and appraisal company called Doyle on 13th September. Beebe published many books on railroad history, and many other books in collaboration with his partner Clegg.

A gold belt featuring 16 U.S. Liberty Head Double Eagle $20 gold coins and signed “Morgan Smith” had an estimated price of $20,000–$30,000. Apart from that, a gold cigarette case by Cartier had an estimated value of $5,000–$7,000, a platinum open-face pocket watch by Cartier had an estimated price of $3,000–$4,000 and a golden nugget watch fob chain had an estimated price of $5,000–$7,000.
