World Sight Day 2023

World Sight Day is observed on the second Thursday of October every year. The global events draw world attention to the importance of Eye Care. According to the World Health Organization, every year millions of individuals suffer from a near- or distance visual impairment.This year, World Sight Day is mark on October 12 with the theme "Love your eyes at work." To raise awareness of the problem, the Indian government had planned several events across the nation.
To raise awareness regarding importance of the eye, India Post issued a stamp in 1976 on World Health Day with the theme Foresight Prevents Blindness.
