The Cheetah is a cat native to Central Iran and Africa. They are the fastest land animal and are estimated to run at 128 km/h and has evolved with specialized adaptations for speed, including light, long thin legs and a long tail. A cheetah weighs around 21 to 72 kg and has a small round head, a short snout, black tear-like facial streaks, and solid black spots.

The nomadic life of searching for prey is carried out by females whereas males are more sedentary and establish much smaller territories with plentiful food and females. It majorly feeds on small and medium-sized animals. Cheetahs breed throughout the year. After a gestation of around three months, three to four cubs are born and are highly vulnerable to predation by other carnivores.

The global cheetah population was estimated at 7,100 individuals in 2016 and listed as Vulnerable on IUCN Red List.

The above-given multicolour stamp is a commemorative stamp. It was issued on 17th December 2017 by Tanzania. It has a face value of 5,500 Tanzanian shillings. An image of a cheetah with the country name is in the top left corner, and the face value is in the top right corner.
