Lakshminath Bezbaruah Commemorative Stamp

Lakshminath Bezbaruah was an Assamese poet, novelist, and playwright of modern Assamese literature. Lakshminath Bezbaruah was an honest writer of Assamese Literature and a powerful voice for the creative and intellectual resurgence of modern India. He responded to the prevailing social environment through his satirical works to bring and sustain positive changes to the former.During this time, the famous Assamese Journal 'Jonaki' was launched under the leadership of Chandra Kumar Agarwala. Lakshminath Bezbaruah's works represented the contemporary modern Assamese mind through which streamed forth a reawakening of the language, literature, culture, and society of Assam.
The Government of India issued this commemorative stamp on LakshminathBezbaruah in 1968 to commemorate him and his work.
