The note features a portrait of 1 rupee Indian coin and the denomination is shown in various regional languages of India. This is the only Indian currency note which has the portrait of a one rupee coin. The note is available for a just hundred rupees only.
It is the smallest Indian banknote in circulation and the only one being issued by the Government of India, while other banknotes are issued by the Reserve Bank of India. The one rupee note is the only note bearing the signature of the Finance Secretary and not the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India.
