Ukraine's UNESCO Coin

On 16th November 1945, in Paris, France, there formed a special organization that came into being which has a purpose to help people live as global citizens free of hate and intolerance by promoting cultural heritage and the equal dignity of all cultures.The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations with the purpose is contribute to promoting international collaboration in education, sciences, and culture. UNESCO fosters scientific programs and policies as platforms for development and cooperation.
UNESCO strengthens bonds among nations. Many nations, at different points, joined this organization. Ukraine, for example, became a part of UNESCO in the year 1954 and celebrated Golden Jubilee in the year 2004. For the occasion, Ukraine issued a 5 Hryven coin celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Ukrainian UNESCO Membership. The coin was designed by the designer and engraver: Sviatoslav Ivanenko.
The obverse depicts the insert ring with an ornamented background and a small National emblem of Ukraine with the issued year at the top. Within the outer circle, there are the inscriptions: Ukraine and 5 hryvnias. The Reverse depicts the insert ring, against the background of a conventionalized ornament there is the UNESCO logotype. Within the outer ring, there are the inscriptions: “50 YEARS OF UKRAINE IN UNESCO”.
