2016-11-12 Sat

After the results of the US elections, there are many new medals and banknotes that would be released for which collectors will be eagerly waiting.

One of it is the official presidential inaugural medal to be issued through Trump’s inaugural committee, and the other is U.S. paper money, which will feature the signatures of a new Treasury secretary and U.S. treasurer.

The official inaugural medal is not the traditional Presidential medal issued by the U.S. Mint using designs from one of the members of the Mint’s engraving staff.

Private mints produce official inaugural medal by submitting proposed sketches. Die-struck medals in different sizes, metallic compositions and set combinations approved by inaugural committee or subcommittee will be issued.

Medalcraft Mint plans to pitch designs for these medals. Three different obverse portraits and three different reverses are going to be presented. 3-inch bronze prototype medals will be considered by the Presidential Inaugural Committee.

Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew’s signature replaced on U.S. paper money with that of his successor who could be Steven Mnuchin.

Current series notes include the signature of Rosa Gumataotao Rios as U.S. treasurer. Rios resigned the position in July who is to be replaced as well. A new U.S. Mint director could also be appointed after the elections.
