Gold Mohur of Emperor Aurangzeb

This Gold Mohur was minted in Nusratabad during the 39th year of Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir’s reign.Emperor Aurangzeb was the sixth Mughal emperor and also the last effective Emperor of Mughal Empire. During his sovereign, the Empire saw vast but temporary expansion. Aurangzeb ruled over the great Indian Peninsula, greater and bigger territory than any other Mughal emperor before him.
The Gold Mohur was minted in Aurangzeb Alamgir’s reign, depicts a couplet “Sikka Zad Dar Jahan Chu Mihr-e-munir Badshah Aurangzeb Alamgir” with AH Date (Not visible in the image) on the obverse; and Julus Formula, RY with Mint Name on the reverse.
This Gold Mohur is in Extremely Fine condition and Very rare which was sold for the hammer price of INR 1, 00,000 by classical Numismatic Gallery.
