ARISS Fundraising Event Driven by ARISS Challenge Coin Door Prizes

The 2016 fundraising campaign organized to raise money for making critical upgrades of its old ISS ham radio gear started on May 20th. Anybody who contributes $100 or more would be eligible for a premium of winning Commemorative ARISS Challenge Coin sets. Apart from that a set of Amateur Radio on the International Space Station Challenge Coins will also be given away. The largest prize is a US Tower HDX-455 55-foot crank-up tower.Officials say that the 17 year old radio station needs significant upgrades and next generation solutions. The fundraising campaign is aimed at supporting the Amateur Radio community and raising funds for bearing operational costs involved in educational outreach.
Organizers of the event have said that they would be giving away the prizes worth over $51,000 at the 2016 Dayton Hamvention.
