The drafter of Indian Constitution, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was born today on 14th April in 1891.

Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar popularly known as Babasaheb needs no introduction. He was an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer. He pioneered the Dalit Buddhism movement in India and worked tirelessly for their welfare.

He was Independent India's first law minister and the principal architect of the Constitution of India. In 1990, the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, was posthumously conferred upon Ambedkar.

Recently in 2015 to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar commemorative coins were released.
