2019-02-07 Thu
On 24th January, Bahamas released a new half dollar banknote, which is the fourth note from its CRISP Evolution (CE) series. The first note in the series was issued in 2016 and it bore a denomination of $10. Let’s take a closer look at the security features which have been implemented on this note. The watermark includes an image of Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination in numeric $½. Both these elements can be seen when the note is held against a light source. It is located at the far left when seen from the obverse side. The security thread looks like a solid line on the obverse side and seems to be on the surface of the reverse side. A lizard design on the obverse side, changes its colour from metallic gold to green, upon tilting the note. The reverse side features a light shining golden band which contains the letters CBB, $1/2 in iridescent print, and a basket weave pattern.
The new $50 and $3 banknotes will also be released in 2019.
