Forget-Me-Not Silver Coin of Canada

The Royal Canadian Mint released a 99.99% fine silver Forget-me-not collector coin to honour the soldiers of Newfoundland and Labrador, who fought fearlessly during the First World War. The coin was officially revealed on 1st July by the Lieutenant Governor of the province.The reverse side depicts forget-me-not flowers flowing by the coast around the caribou emblem of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment. The caribou points to the eastern side, symbolically directed towards Beaumont-Hamel, to remember the soldiers who fought the battle on 1st July 1916. Forget-me-not flowers are worn as a tribute to the brave soldiers who fought the dreaded War. The obverse side depicts designs of forget-me-not flowers engraved using laser technology. It also shows an effigy of Queen Elizabeth designed by Susanna Blunt. The special coins have a mintage limit of 5,000 and can be purchased for $99.95 each.
The Royal Canadian Mint had issued commemorative coins for the Battle of Beaumont-Hamel earlier as well. After they were released, a Memorial Day is being observed on 1st July annually.
