Radiyya Sultan Silver Tanka Listed For INR 2,50,000

This silver tanka issued by Jalalat Al-Din Radiyya of Mamluk dynasty is listed for the whopping price of INR 2,50,000 in the upcoming auction of Oswal Auction House which will be held in Bangalore on 26th July 2019 at around 5:30 PM.Radiyya was the daughter of Shams Al-Din Iltutmish; this third ruler of the Mamluk Dynasty. Radiyya was courageous and able ruler; due to his reason, Iltutmish nominated her to sit on the throne of a Delhi Sultanate after her death.
At the beginning of her reign, Radiyya Sultan had faced much resistance but she was successful in overcoming all her difficulties. She is known for being one of the few women in history to have ruled a large empire.
The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Al-Sultan Al-Azam Shamsa Al-Dunya Wal Din Al-Sultan Al-Mu'Azzam Radiyyat Al-Dunya Wa'L Din’. The reverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Fi Ahad Al-Imam Al-Mustansir Amir Al-MuMinin’.
