Canada Celebrates Vaisakhi With a Coin Release

Vaisakhi is just around the corner and it can’t get more exciting for Punjabis settled in Canada! This colourful festival is not just celebrated in India, but Canada as well due to the high number of Sikhs settled there.To celebrate this festival of harvest, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce is offering a limited edition, one-of-a-kind pure silver coin, ahead of the upcoming parade festivities in Surrey on April 23rd and in the Greater Toronto Area on May 1st. The day was when the Khalsa fellowship was created by Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh Guru.
Priced at $59.95, the 1 oz. coin illustrates the symbols of Ik Onkar and Khanda and is made of 99.99 percent fine silver.
