The latest £5 coins have been issued by the Royal Mint in a variety of finishes and metals, including editions in platinum, gold, and silver.A classical garland of nine roses depicted on the coin indicates the Queen’s decades along with the Royal cipher “EIIR”, and the number 90.
The 75-year old designer, Christopher Hobbs, got his design personally approved by the Queen.
Prices start at £13 but a limited edition 5oz gold coin was available to pre-order for £7,500.
