Jodhpur was a Princely State during the British rule in India; it is the second largest city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Historically, this princely state has been the capital of the kingdom of Marwar; today Marwar is a part of Rajasthan.Umaid Singh was Maharaja of Jodhpur; he sat on the throne of Jodhpur in the year 1918 CE and ruled till 1947 CE. He was the second son of Maharaja Sir Sardar Singh and sat on the throne after the death of his elder brother Maharaja Sir Sumair Singh in the year 1918 CE.
