Washington is one of the states of the United States of America that’s situated in the Pacific Northwest region. This state is named after the first president of the USA, George Washington. The capital of this state is Olympia and the largest city of this state is Seattle. Washington is sometimes is also termed as Washington state to distinguish it from Washington D.C (District of Columbia); the capital of the United States.Washington State is the 18th largest state and the 13th most populous state of the USA. It is a leading producer of Lumber; it is also the biggest producers of apples, hops, pears, red raspberries, spearmint oil, and sweet cherries, and ranks high in the production of apricots, asparagus, dry edible peas, grapes, lentils, peppermint oil, and potatoes. The rugged surface of this state is rich in stands of Douglas fir, hemlock, ponderosa pine, white pine, spruce, larch, and cedar.
The United States of America had issued this commemorative quarter dollar with the theme of the state of Washington in the year 2007. The reverse of this coin depicts the image of a salmon breaching the water in front of the majestic Mount Rainer.
