Mahmud Damghan Shah was the ruler of Madurai Sultanate. Madurai Sultanate was a short-lived independent Muslim Kingdom based in the city of Madurai, today it is the part of the Indian States of Tamil Nadu.The full name of Mahmud Damghan Shah was Nasir-ud-Din Mahmud Damghan Shah. He ruled Madurai Sultanate from 1344 CE until 1347 CE. Mahmud Damghan Shah sat on the throne of Madurai after the death of Ghiyath-ud-Din Muhammad Damghan.
When Mahmud Damghan Shah sat on the throne, Madurai Sultanate started declining. The main reason of declining of Madurai Sultanate was raising power of Vijayanagar Kingdom in the north. Mahmud Damghan Shah ruled Madurai Sultanate for short period of time.
