Copper Two-Third Falus of Adil Shah II of Bijapur Sultanate

This copper 2/3 Falus was issued by Ibrahim Adil Shah II of Bijapur Sultanate. The weight of this 2/3 Falus is around 7.43g.Ibrahim Adil Shah II sat on the throne of Bijapur Sultanate in the year 1580 CE and ruled it till 1627 CE. He was the sixth ruler of Bijapur Sultanate and also a member of Adil Shahi dynasty. Ibrahim Adil Shah II was a skillful administrator, artist, and poet; he was also a patron of arts. He was also a great lover of music, and also used to play musical instruments; he also used to sing and composed praises of Hindu deities like Saraswati and Ganapati. Book he wrote Kitab-E-Navras (Book of Nine Rasas) has a collection of 59 poems and 17 couplets. After sitting on the throne of Bijapur Sultanate he extended his frontier to the south till Mysore. He is also known as ‘Jagadguru Badshah’ in Indian history.
