Gabon is a country along the Atlantic coast of Central Africa. It has significant areas of protected parkland. The forested coastal terrain of its famed Loango National Park shelters a diversity of wildlife, from gorillas and hippos to whales. Lope National Park consists of mostly rainforest; Akanda National Park is known for its mangroves and tidal beaches.Abundant petroleum and foreign private investment have helped make Gabon one of the most prosperous countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. Gabon's economy is dominated by oil. The Central African CFA franc is the currency in Gabon along with other five independent states in Central Africa.
Today we are discussing a 500 francs banknote from 1985. The obverse has figure carving and jug. The reverse has a carver with his works of art; Carved masks, shields, and figures. This orange note has figure carving as its watermark.
