Muhammad Shah II was the son of Muhammad Shah I. He sat on the throne of Bahamani Sultanate after the death of his father Muhammad Shah I in the year 1378 CE and ruled it till 1397 CE. Muhammad Shah II ruled Bahamani Sultanate for almost 19 years and this 19 years most peaceful period in Bahamani history. Muhammad Shah II was not having any son so he adopted Firoz Shah and Ahmad I, the two sons of his uncle Ahmad Khan. After the birth of his son Ghiyas-Ud-Din-Tahmatan Shah, Muhammad Shah II last wish was Ghiyas-ud-Din Tahmatan Shah will succeed him and Firoz Shah and Ahmad I will pay homage to him.This silver tanka which weighs around 10.6g minted in Hadrat Ahsanabad was issued by Muhammad Shah II during the Hijri year 793. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Al Nasir Li Din Al Dayan Al Hami L'llah Al Iman’. The reverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Al Wathiq Ba Tayid Al Rahman Abu'l Muzaffar Muhammad Shah Al Sultan date at the bottom’.
