Minnesota is a state with a larger number of lakes, it is also known by the slogan ‘land of 10,000 lakes. The word Minnesota comes from the Dakota language, Mni Sota which means ‘Clear Blue Water’ or cloudy water.Minnesota is situated in the upper Midwest and northern region of the United States of America. It is 12th state by its area and 22nd most populous states of the United States of America. This state is the centre of transportation, business, industry, education, and government while being home to an internationally known arts community.
The United States of America had issued its commemorative coin in the year 2005. This is the second coin released in the year 2005 and overall it is 32nd coin release in 50 States Quarters Program. The reverse of this coin depicts the image of a tree-lined lake with two people fishing, a loon on the water, and a textured outline of the state surrounding its nickname, Land of 10,000 Lakes.
