Muhammad Ibrahim Silver Rupee Listed For INR 20,000

Muhammad Ibrahim was one of the rulers of the Mughal Empire. His full name was Abul Fath Zahir-ul-din Muhammad Ibrahim was the eldest son of Rafi-ush-Shan and Nur-un-Nissa Begum. He sat on the throne of the Mughal Empire on 15th October 1720. He had been designated by the Sayyid brothers as his brother's successor. Later, he was defeated by Muhammad Shah in the battle of Hasanpur and was put in prison on 13th November 2019.Muhammad Ibrahim ruled the Mughal Empire for a very short period of time. In this short period of time issued coins in two metals gold and silver. This silver rupee issued by him was minted in Dar-ul-Khilafat Shahjahanabad. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Sikka Zad Dar Jahan Ba Fazl Shahan Shah Karim Muhammad Ibrahim’. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with Julus formula, mint name Dar-ul-Khilafat Shahjahanabad and regnal year ‘Ahad’. This silver rupee is listed for INR 20,000 in the upcoming auction of Imperial Auction House which will be held in Mumbai on 20th April 2019.
