Rohilkhand Gold Mohur Listed For INR 42,000

Rohilkhand was the Independent Kingdom during the medieval period in India. Today it lies in the north-western region of Uttar Pradesh. This region is also known as Madhya Pradesh in the Hindu epic Mahabharata. This region is named after the Rohilla Afghan tribe. Roh means mountains and in Pashto Rohilla means Mountaineer.During the 12th Century, this region was ruled by various different clans of Rajputs. Later this region came under the rule of Muslim Turkic dynasties and this region came under the rule of Delhi Sultanate, and after Delhi Sultanate the region came under the hands of Mughals.
This gold mohur was issued in the name of Mughal Empire Shah Alam II during the 4th year of his reign. The weight of this gold mohur is around 10.83g and it was minted in Najibabad. This gold mohur is listed for INR 42,000 in the upcoming auction of Todywalla which will be held in Mumbai on 20th April 2019.
