The Aland Islands, or Aland, is an autonomous region of Finland. Comprising of around 6,700 islands, this Swedish-speaking archipelago is in the Baltic Sea. The capital, Mariehamn, on the main island of Fasta Aland, is known for its beaches and streets lined with 19th-century wooden townhouses, handicraft shops, and cafes. Vasterhamn, the town's western port, links Aland with Estonia, Sweden, and mainland Finland.Aland's economy is heavily dominated by shipping, trade, and tourism. While the official currency is the Euro, the Swedish Krona was the currency before. However, most businesses in Aland unofficially accept the Swedish krona.
Today we are discussing a 200 Kronor banknote of 2016. This note depicts on the obverse a Common raven to right; and a Sailing ship (two-masted schooner) in center-left. The reverse of the note depicts a Lighthouse.
