New Rs 10 Coins to Celebrate Ambedkar’s 125th Birth Anniversary

The 125th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar is going to be celebrated in a special way by releasing a Rs. 10 denomination commemorative coin.The obverse will feature the Lion Capitol of the Ashoka Pillar with the inscription ‘Satyameva Jayate’ and ‘Bharat’ in Devanagri script as well as in English.
The reverse shall bear the portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the centre with inscription-‘125th birth anniversary of DR B R Ambedkar in Devanagri script and English. The year ‘2015’ shall be written below the portrait.
The outer ring of the bi-metallic coin is composed of aluminium bronze alloy and the centre piece is made up of cupro-nickel.
These coins are legal tender and the existing coins shall also continue to be in circulation.
