Illinois is one of the states of the United States of America; this state is situated in the Midwestern region of the United States. It is sixth most populous states of the United States and 25th largest states in terms of land and area. The Central and Northern Illinois is the land of great agricultural productivity. Southern s Illinois is very rich in natural resources such as coal, timber, and petroleum. Illinois has a diverse economic base and is a major transportation hub.The United States of America had issued a commemorative quarter dollar with the theme of the state Illinois in the year 2003. This quarter dollar is the first coin issued in the year 2003 and overall it is 21st coin release in 50 State Quarters Program. The obverse of this coin depicts the image of George Washington, the first president of the United States of America from 1789 to 1797. The reverse of the coin depicts young Abraham Lincoln within the outline map of state Illinois. The Farm scene is also seen on the left side of the coin and the Chicago skyline on the right side of the coin. There are twenty-one stars bordering the coin which signify Illinois as the 21st state admitted into the Union.
