Royal Mint Celebrates the Life of Stephen Hawking

Royal Mint issued a Silver Proof 50p Coin celebrating the life Stephen Hawking the most celebrated Physicist of this Era. This coin was released on the occasion of the first death anniversary of this Renowned Scientist. Stephen Hawking left this world on 14th March 2018 due to the prolonged illness.He was one of the world’s most famous physicists and he was also a brilliant ambassador for science. His breakthrough work was on black holes and the popularization of sciences are seen as significant contributions to humanity, bringing intricate details of time and space to a whole new audience.
The coin is the first among the exciting new series celebrating innovators in science. The coin depicts the effigy of Elizabeth II on the obverse. The reverse depicts the name Stephen Hawking in the centre with Blackhole thermodynamics above it and the black hole at the bottom.
This coin is only available as a commemorative edition celebrating the life and legacy of one of the world’s most brilliant scientists.
