Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge is located in the eastern coast of Kent Kent County, Delaware, United States, on Delaware Bay. This National park was established on 16th March; 1937 as a refuge and breeding ground for migratory and wintering waterfowl along the Atlantic Flyway.Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge was introduced with the mission to provide habitat for migratory birds and other wildlife. This national park has many names; The American natives call this national wildlife as Canarsie, while other calls it as Ruyge-Bosje. Bombay Hook is spread over 16,000 acres which include freshwater pools, swamps, upland forests, agricultural fields and one of the largest unaltered tidal salt marshes in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The United States of America had issued this commemorative quarter dollar with the theme of Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge. The reverse of this coin depicts great blue heron in the foreground and a great egret in the background.
