Sailana princely state was a part of Malwa Agency, Central Indian Agency. The word ‘Sailana’ is traced from the name of Shaila hills. The lineage of Sailana comes from Rathore Rajputs of the Ratanavat branch, an offshoot of the Ratlam house. Jai Singh, the great-grandson of Ratan Singh established the state.Dule Singh rules the state from 1850 to 195 AD. During the reign, he issued copper coins in the denomination of Paisa, half Paisa, and 2 Paisa.
Depicted here is a copper Paisa issued during his reign. The obverse of a coin depicted the Pennant points either up or down. The reverse of a coin bore the VS 1939 legend in retrograde with scimitar below.
