Gold Mohur of Shah Jahan III

Shah Jahan III was the ruler of the Mughal Empire, he ruled the Mughal Empire from 1759 to 1760 CE. He is also known with the name Muhi-ul-millat. He sat on the Mughal throne in Delhi on December 1759, with the help of Imad-ul-Mulk, later he was deposed by Maratha Sardars.After sitting on the Mughal throne he issued coins are all three metals gold, silver, and copper. He issued denominations like Mohur, Rupee, and Dam. He issued all his coins from the mints like Ahmadabad, Ahmadnagar, Farrukhabad, Akbarabad, Azimabad, Hasanabad, Mahindrapur, Shahjahanabad and Surat.
This gold mohur was issued by Shah Jahan III from the mint surat weighs around 11.12g. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of the king Shah Jahan III. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with the mint name Surat. This gold mohur was sold for INR 1,20,000 in an auction of Todywalla held in Mumbai on 29th June 2017.
