Gold Mohur of Yaghyanarayan Singh

Kishangarh was a Princely State located in the center of Rajputana. It was founded by Jodhpur Prince Kishan Singh in the year 1609 AD. Before Kishan Singh, the state was ruled by Maharaja Samokhan Singh who was a relative of Kishan Singh’s family.Rulers of Kishangarh issued various gold and silver coins. These coins were first issued in the name of Mughal Emperor and later British rulers. Depicted here is a gold Mohur issued in the reign of Yaghanarayan Singh. He ruled the state from 1926 to 1938 AD.
This coin was issued in the name of George V and depicts the Jhar symbol. The obverse and reverse both of a coin inscribed with the beautiful Persian legend.
